The basic concept of the game is to be given cards totaling up to twenty-one. Every gambler is handed 2 cards. When a blackjack player is handed a nine or less and an Ace they’ve been given a soft hand. When the blackjack player receives no Ace cards it is known as a hard hand. Once the cards have been dealt all players at the table, which includes the dealer, each blackjack player is provided the opportunity to make one of six actions:
Taking another card (Hit): When a gambler says "hit" the dealer will give him another card, if the adding of that card causes the total greater than twenty one the gambler will have busted and be excluded from the game, if the card pushes the total to twenty one the player is the winner and if the value of the hand has not yet reached twenty-one they’re still in the game.
Keeping the hand you’ve been given: If a player is happy with the cards they will stand. As soon as this has happened the croupier will reveal his/her cards and the blackjack player who has gotten 21 or the nearest to 21 will come away with a win.
Doubling Down: A player might request to double down which increases the bet by one hundred percent they have placed. Once you’ve taken this action you can only be given one more card. The details of doubling down are normally specified by the blackjack table or casino rules so prior to wagering make certain you’re comfortable with the house game rules. If you’re playing at an internet casino this is usually quite easy.
